AIR FREIGHT
As a global leader in air consolidation and forwarding , we provide customer-specific airfreight programs to shippers of any size. We understand that airfreight is a premium and costly service , so our goal is to focus on quick transit and constant communication , combined with the ability to seize cost saving opportunities.
Air freight consists of :
- Consolidation service
- Import and export authorization
- Express Service
- Customs broker
FREIGHT CACULATION
The airfreight is calculated over the Chargeable Weight . In fact , this kind of weight is the relation between the gross weight and its volume of one specific shipment . According to IATA’s convention , each 1.000 grams must have 6.000 cm3 at maximum . In this way , we always must find out how much each shipment “ weights “ related to its volume through the following formula .
(L (cm) X W(cm) X H(cm) ) / 6.000 = Weight charge (kg)
For instance , lets suppose a hypothetic shipment composed by 10 boxes of 1.20 X 1.10 X 0,90 m and each one weights 150.00 kg. In this way ,
we would have a total gross weight of 1,500.00 kg and with a total cubic meter of 11.88 m3 .
Applying the formula , we would have : (10 X 120 X 110 X 90 )(cm) / 6.000 = 1.980 (kg)
As a result , we would state that this cargo would be charged over the chargeable weight as 1,980.00 kg and not over the gross weight – 1,500.00 kg
Road Freight Calculation
The road freight calculation is very similar to the airfreight , however the relation weight/volume is 1,000.00 grams per 3.000,00 cm3 . Thus , we have the following formula :
(L (cm) X W(cm) X H(cm) ) / 3.333,33 = Weight charge (kg)
